Electronic Information and job notice board for the StAlkErS Filmsim game
The StAlkErS Information Board replaced one of the most manual and fragile systems in the game. A whiteboard, a dry marker, and a single organiser trying to keep it updated. While functional, it was slow to change, easy to miss, and completely disconnected from the tone and technology of the StAlkErS universe.
The solution was a standalone, offline web application displayed on a large wall mounted screen inside the trader’s safe zone. Designed to feel like a giant in world terminal, the board presents live jobs, resource values, environmental data, and the exchange rate between bullets and chits. It updates instantly when the administrator makes a change, removing the need for tannoy announcements or constant player prompting.
Jobs are time based, with start times, end times, rewards, and configurable lead times to control player behaviour and prevent resource hoarding. Resource values can be adjusted dynamically to influence the in game economy, while environmental data adds flavour and atmosphere rather than realism.
Styled to match the CRT inspired aesthetic of the wider StAlkErS tech props, the board feels like a natural extension of the world rather than a modern intrusion. During the event it became a focal point for planning, discussion, and decision making, drawing teams together and keeping the game flowing smoothly.
What began as a practical upgrade became a central piece of the experience, raising immersion and reducing organiser workload at the same time.

An interactive retro computer terminal with user interface inspired by the Fallout games.
